Fiber artist Clora Hamilton is the featured Guest Artist from July 31 to September 1, at Gallery 302 in Bridgton. She will share her innovative procedure, some of her perform and her encounters with textiles at an Artist Reception at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at the gallery.
Hamilton grew up in Massachusetts portion of a loved ones of artists and makers, and a vacation customer to Maine. Immediately after retirement, she and her partner Wayne fell in like with their house in Lovell, where by they are summer season inhabitants. She has been generating all of her existence, passing on her childhood crayons for operating with fiber and textiles. In junior high faculty she was inspired by her grandmother’s reward of yarn and needles, from which she made a knitted costume. Ever since, she has been adventuring with fiber on appealing projects motivated by attractive sites, texture, and the vitality she feels in hues. For a time she knitted typical clothes, designed painted ground cloths and ornamental home furniture but artistic knitting and felting with fiber referred to as her, along with the voice of the yarn which claims what it wants to come to be. The retired scientific Social Employee likes to encourage as well as be motivated by sharing with many others.
