Feathers, flowers, leaves, and the human muscular technique are spliced into an eclectic camouflage in MUMI’s surreal portraits. From classic encyclopedias, journals, and art historic paintings, the Argentinian artist cuts and layers pictures into compositions that vacillate involving the whimsical and the bizarre. Led by a more substantial narrative, the collages commingle models, eras, shades, and textures into disorienting portraits, all spurred by the artist’s desire to experiment. “I truly delight in the natural and organic process in which I enable myself go freely,” MUMI shares. “There are limitless possibilities when I lower an impression. I consider it out of its context, its immediate indicating, or its origin, and I give it a new surreal natural environment.”

Prints are readily available from Culture6, and you can come across an archive of her excellent performs on Instagram.
